The capital is Itanagar. Wakro is the homeland of the Mishmis, a Mongoloid tribe of Tibeto-Burman origin. Mishmis have their own dialect that is spoken differently among the various groups. The three major Mishmi groups are the Idus, Tarons, and Kamans. Mishmis are very rich in culture and love celebrating festivals. They believe that any day of the year is auspicious for a ceremony if the provisions exist. On these days, animals are sacrificed. Mishmis are nature worshipers.
